Information for Visitors

Launching and Mooring

Boats are launched at the ramp at the Sandpoint City Beach Park.  There is no crane.  This is a public park and it can get busy, but there is ample room to park, stand you rig and launch at will.  There are a few faucets around as well if you need to hose the boat down.  You will probably need you motor to get to your marina.

The City of Sandpoint maintains two marinas near downtown Sandpoint - the Windbag Marina and City Beach Marina. The city offers guest moorage as well as seasonal moorage. If you plan to get a slip for the season, plan early. The city does give preference to sailboats, but they can fill up fast.

Note:  Parking at the City Beach is somewhat limited.  There are a few dock carts, but try to save yourself some work and load the boat up before you take off from the ramp.  Your crew will appreciate it!

Visiting Sandpoint

Sandpoint is located on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille, nestled between the Cabinet and Selkirk mountain ranges. Sandpoint is a quintessential mountain town offering a variety of outdoor activities during any season.

Lake Pend Oreille is not your average mountain lake, its way better. Idaho's largest lake with a surface area of 148 square miles. It's 43 miles long and 1,150 feet deep in some parts. That's a lot of room to play.
